The Trip

Overview

Akagera covers the savanna, lakes and papyrus swamps along Rwanda's eastern border with Tanzania. Lions and rhinos have been reintroduced, and a single day can bring elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hippos and crocodiles, plus hundreds of bird species. We leave Kigali before dawn so you are in the park for the best morning light.
