Almost every trip starts or ends in Kigali, and it rewards a day of its own. The morning covers the city's history and views, from the Kandt House Museum to Juru Park and the restored Nyandungu wetland. After lunch on Mount Kigali we walk and taste our way through Nyamirambo, visit Kigali's art and craft scene, and finish with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

Pick-up from your hotel. Visit the Kandt House Museum for Rwanda's pre-colonial and colonial history, take in the city from Juru Park and walk the trails of Nyandungu Eco-Park.

Lunch at Fazenda Sengha on Mount Kigali. Horse riding, zipline, archery and quad biking are available there as extras.

2:30 pm: Nyamirambo, art and memory
A walking and food tour of Nyamirambo, contemporary art at the Inema Arts Center, crafts at the Nyamirambo Women's Center, then the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

5:00 pm: City drive and market
A drive past the city's new landmarks and a market stop for souvenirs, back at your hotel by 6:00 pm.
